Dr William Whitaker-eleventh great grand uncle to Rosalie Kay nee Turner and Patricia Newton(previously Mais) nee Turner.
Dr Whitaker was appointed Master of St John's College,Cambridge by Queen Elizabeth I in 1586.

Home of the Whitakers of Holme in Lancashire from the 1400s. Margaret Whitaker of Holme married Nicholas Whitaker of Healey in 1618 and their third great grandaughter married John Fletcher 1737. The Holme was destroyed by fire in 2003.

Alexander Whitaker was the son of Dr William A Whitaker of St John's College,Cambridge. H travelled to the USA as a missionary and was known there as "The Apostle of Virginia" He baptised Pocohontas and subsequently offiiated at her marriage.He was first cousin twelve times removed to Pat Newton and Rosalie Kay
